WantList
Yeah, I’m gonna stop wishing, and I’ll start wanting instead. Wishes might never come true. Now, you want something bad enough, you’ll eventually get it. Besides, most of the things I’ve been wanting lately are on the cheap side of the budget line … that is, of everybody else’s budget line, since what I’m making on a monthly basis is barely enough to cover my obligatory expenses (car payments, credit card, and such).
The List:
1.
A Gypsy Skirt. I already have one. Most people that’ve known me for at least half a year and see me on a regular basis know this. It’s like a comfort blanket, I love feeling all that fabric around me. A regular long skirt won’t do: it has to be a long, flowy, wrap-around skirt. They used to sell these at Valija Gitana – where I got mine – but they don’t anymore (it follows, the place is becoming much less “gitana” with time… plus I hear they’re bankrupt now, I dunno!). Thing is, the one I own is falling apart in tatters. Next thing I know, I’ll have a “gypsy mini-skirt”. Ew.
2.
Red Mary Jane Crocs (or Klogs). I’ve been converted, I’m a believer! These ugly-ass mo’fo’s are fucking comfy! They’ve saved my feet from total stinkdom or destruction brought on by the long-winded walks I have to make in the university campus. They’ve also been feet-savers during hoppity-hop shifts at the store. I have black mary jane Klogs, the cheap substitute for Crocs (they’re WAY better than the Airwalk version, though). So, red? Next logical step.
3.
Moisturize me! Moisturize me! The last one I had is gone, over, finished!
To make matters worse, the lotion I use isn’t available in PR, so I’ve had to order by eBay the last few times. Now, it’s just a luxury from the past. Oatmeal for my face it is, I guess … Oatmeal-face Diana … no, doesn’t have a nice ring to it.
4.
An embroidered, white shirt. Something like the picture… sort of. I have 2 already: one ill-fitting, the other is already torn in a few places (so heading out in public wearing it is not an option, really, not if I want to look NICE in it).
5.
A 3-row studded belt. I once owned one… for one day, and then gave it away to my sister. Now I need a belt. I have no belt. Except one I brought Mom from an Ukrainian shop in NYC, and later exchanged for a skirt I bought for myself at a Tibetan shop … in any case, the Ukrainian belt? BEAUTIFUL beyond words. But not for work.
… and it would be nice i it came in a combo with a studded bracelet! Yeeeeaaah…
